What is set up as your Preview Device under Options/Preferences?

normally I'm only on one screen so its to 1. when I connect to TV screen I move the preview device to display 2. now it identifies the displays as 1 & 2 when you ask it but doesn't play the output to screen 2. if you ask it to play the preview to screen 1, it has no problem with that. its just when you ask it to preview to screen 2 that there are difficulties. when you hit the video preview on external monitor button, nothing happens.

It could have to do with your video card or how you've connected to your external monitor.

Sorry, I can't offer any specific advice without knowing more about what's plugged into what and how your display settings are configured.

PRR,
see what's in your Control Panel, Display, change settings (several displays). Maybe you need to extend?
Don't forget the Preview Device, Display change.
