I have successfully used the Insert Slide Show feature a number of times, and it is very flexible and useful.
However, the "Add Pictures" feature seems a little limited - in that it does not have an option to select items from the "Project Media". While this should not matter - I spent quite a long time selecting just the photos that I wanted for the slide show into the Project Media area (from 500 source to the 25 I wanted). But now I cant just 'pick' them for a slide show.
Never mind - I can use the 'cut to overlap' Editing Preference, drag all selected photos to the timeline and a Slide-Show like effect is created. BUT I have no control over the required duration or transition selections.
So I have some ideas for Movie Studio
1. To be able to select any number of items in the time line, and 'convert to slideshow'. This would cause and cuts to be extended to overlap, and the random (or selected) transitions to be applied. The overall duration would remain unchanged (so it exactly matched the sound track that you needed).
2. For the Slideshow file list to be saved with the project, so if you need to re-create the show you do not need to start from scratch.
