Hello-
If I want to grab a bunch of clips, some on the same track and some not, but I don't want to grab, say the audio track as an example, is there a lasso feature where I can just click drag around the clips I want to select?
When I try now, I just activate the loop region.

Not a bad idea, but not currently. Best thing to do currently is hold ctrl and click the clips you need.

If you have Vegasaur (highly recommended), you can try their SelectEvents tool. Here is a screengrab. It may or may not be want you want.
What about using the »Selection Edit Tool« of Vegas Pro?

Also: you can, with some limitations shift select two outsides of an area, (select an event object, by mouse clicking on the object, then shift/select an object away from the first and the objects in between will be selected, and you can add/subtract from this set of selected events individually by control/clicking on those individual events, one at a time.

Easy select: You cycle through the four available tools with the "D" key

Great thanks. Not sure why that didn't display for me.
And if you use the Event Selection Tool with "Ctrl" togheter, you can select multiple segments. Verry handy!
