some video previews studder with Movie Studio Platinum 13...

Vegas (Sony) Movie Studio Platinum 13 has begun to react to some video clips ripped from the internet with stuttering, jerky video and sound and it renders in the same way. Didn't used to happen and the same clip plays and renders just fine in Corel Video Studio. They are not large clips. I probably should upgrade, but I am trying to determine if there is a work-a-round or if the latest version will have the same problem. I do not believe this has anything to do with memory usage. Some clips "straighten" out if I run them through a video converter first. In the end some clips behave and others do not and I wonder what to do.

Please note that the latest version has a free time-limited trial here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-movie-studio/

Always try before you buy.

And if your current version "used to work", you could try resetting. Follow the instructions closely.

thanks vkmast. The files are not large. they are often ripped from sites, so who knows what format the mp4s are in and why they stutter. However running them through a converter or using corel doesn't present a problem.

If the preview stutters, then the final product will too. so I will try the trial. I did upgrade to the latest after Magix bought out the program. The next version did not have icons for fade and other options. I'll certainly find out what has been changed. I do like this program line. PB
