Sony Vegas Pro 15 Won't Open FX/Transition Properties Windows

Optial wrote on 4/17/2019, 3:48 AM

I don't recall changing any settings to cause this, but it worked fine till yesterday. When I add FX, Pan-Crop or Transitions they are added to the clip, but no window pops up to allow me to edit them. And nothing else works (changing FX to edit new one, clicking Transition Properties on clip in timeline, same with Pan-Crop and FX)

I don't think much hardware information is relevant as it DID work; but I will do so anyway.

Sony Vegas 15.0 (Build 416)

Windows 10 Home Version 1803 Build 17134.706

Clips created on Shadowplay, OBS and just MP4 Files (Seems to be Irrelevant)

Trying to Upload to youtube (Seems to be Irrelevant)

Here is a video showcasing the problem, sorry for the mouse glitches and poor display, OBS is buggy and I couldn't crop the video (as you can see).

Try this first. "If VEGAS Pro is behaving strangely you can try resetting it to the default settings."

Vegas is unusable on default settings and I really do not want to track down all the tutorials needed for no crashing and no lagging again. It would probably work but there must be a less destructive solution

Didn't change anything unfortunately...

Looking at what deleting those two files is supposed to fix, I think that's a different problem than mine.

The windows may be hiding under the taskbar, i.e. are out of viewable range. Try to temporarily hide or move the taskbar and see if you can locate the window and drag it back to the main screen.

@vkmast the procedure (trick) you linked to, does work for me (although I don't need it). The numlock key has to be off. Slick!

@vkmast thank you very much for the fix, it was indeed just hiding underneath the taskbar, and when disabled it easily located and rescued. Again, thanks for taking the time out of your day to help.
