Special thanks for the independent developers

Former user wrote on 4/30/2019, 6:03 AM

Today, beyond Vegas team, I want to thank especially the independent developers for the incredible work they do.

@altarvic (Vegasaur developer)

@wwaag (HOS developer)

@jetdv (Excalibur developer)

@Marco. (Vegas2Handbrake developer)

@JohnnyRoy (VASST FasstApps Software and Ultimate S developer)

@FocusOnVegas (Focus on Vegas Scripts developer)

@Gary James (Timeline Tool developer)

@Peter_P (Add Mercalli extension developer)

@Satevis (SeMW_Extensions)

@Harold-Linke (VegasPython developer)

I know there are many others names who deserve to be on this list and I apologize if I did not mention them. I mentioned only those of whom I know the job. Other names may be gently quoted in this post by any forum member.

I really want a lot of success for each one of you. I also hope that the work that each of you develops can grow more and more each day and that each of you have the recognition deserved both financially and professionally.

@Former user Good post. It is important to recognize the ingenuity, entrepreneurial spirit, and generosity of this group. They have helped make Vegas a much better tool for us, and hopefully will continue to do so.

With some exceptions, all those extensions are (just) commercial products which are ofcourse very helpfull. But, why not thank than the Vegas Creative Software team around Gary Rebholz for developing and continuing Vegas?

I feel more thanks for the "free" homemade solutions of devoted users like Marco (Vegas2Handbrake), Peter P aka elCutty (Add Mercalli etc), Satevis aka Antares (SEMW extensions, Autolevel etc) or FocusonVegas (Versionfaker, Batchstabilize etc) for their solutions, some of them were even developed on my request. They deserve, in my opinion, our real special thanks.

We can thank the Vegas dev team on the recent update announcement - If we can be heard through all the complainers.

Free is very nice, yes. But don't look a "gift horse in the mouth" with regards to the commercial products, as they are often overlooked and add a tremendous amount of value for very little cash.

@Kinvermark

That is also my thinking. Thanks!

Hear, hear! Those developers invest huge amounts of time, effort and exceptional expertise in creating and maintaining those add-ons. Over the past three years I've witnessed the gargantuan effort in making one of them a reality. It's only right that those developers should be financially rewarded for that. Equally, MAGIX should take good care of them, as these add-ons constitute an important USP for them.
