STEAM version of Vegas 19.0 - how to open two instances?

Vegas 19.0 (Build 361)
In previous versions of Vegas, I was able to open more than one instance of of the program, useful for copying assets from one project to another.

Now I have the STEAM version, I could not do so. I have tried these, but none worked:
1- double-click the Vegas app icon at the installed folder.
2- drag-drop a project into the Vegas app icon.
3- right click on a project file and 'open with' Vegas app in program location
4- right-click on project file and 'open with' Steam.

Most of the above came up with nothing, while 2 came up with Steam message
"Vegas 19 Edit - Steam Edition is attempting to launch with the optional parameters shown below.
[project file name]
If you did not request this launch or do not understand these options, select Cancel"

(Selecting OK gives nothing)

Is Steam thinking I am trying to launch two games at once? What is a workaround?

My understanding is that the Steam version of Vegas Pro does not allow two instances to be opened, which is what you've discovered.

To my knowledge there is no work around.

" "You are limited to run one application only (due to Steam's environment limitation that it will turn you to the 'already running' app rather than run another one."

See also here for some of the other restrictions.

Thanks for all your precise and quick responses. It's odd that I could not find anything searching this forum before posting my question.

@ychorhon thanks for coming back. "Search" (Find) forum here is lacking many features, but this comment gives links to a couple of threads that may help somewhat.
