studio 11 only wants to render my projects in wav.

OK I am working on a project and I added text, video, and music to it but when I go to render or make movie it only wants to save as a wav file.. How to I fix this so when I go to render a project it renders with video and everything not just the music. I am new to studio 11 and it was working fine before but I think I clicked something and don;t know how to fix it.

Can you describe the steps you're taking to output your movie?

It's kind of hard to say what you're doing wrong if we don't know what you're doing.

You can also check out my free 8 part Basic Training tutorials for Vegas Movie Studio 11, which you'll find on the left side panel on this web page. Part 8 deals with outputting video.

I also offer an 8 part Basic Training series for Movie Studio 13 on the left side of this page.

Its hard to describe since I am real new just started using it but I will try. OK I am just importing a video editing what I want and adding small text and putting music to it. I was able to do all of this with the results I was looking for and saving to my hard drive last night but when I tried to do the exact same stuff today it will only save as a wav file and I lose the video and text and it only saves the music. I don,t even have a option for video format on the outputformat on the project settings when I go to render. It will also let me save the video without any sound but as soon as I add sound it goes back to only saving in wav.

In the Render As dialog box, do you have Show Favorites Only selected? Maybe you set .wav as a favorite and that's why you only see that option.

Nope fav was not checked and I actually just use the default outputs right now I don;t even have any fav's selected. I have no Idea what was wrong with it but I just ended up getting so frustrated I did a restore point on my computer to about three days after I installed it and everything is working find now. I have no idea how I got it so snarled up or what I may have clicked that did it but its fixed right now.

Have you tried the method I demonstrate in part 8 of the tutorials I linked you to above?

Do your screens look different than they do in my tutorials?

I watched yes but it had really no bearing with the issue I was having at the time. Its a great video and I will be watching them when I get stuck on stuff though and thanks for the link.

You may have had your video track muted on the timeline.
;?)

Either that or maybe one of the filtering options (added in v 11) checked in the Render As window.
