See the uppermost part of this page and go to your My Account > My Software. Look for Free Updates (in Serial Numbers and Downloads) and Upgrades.

Thanks... Would seem that I do qualify, but I already have the latest DVD Architect for Studio.

One other question: does anyone know if Studio 13 supports the changes MS did in the 1394 stack in Windows 8.1? After installing the Windows update, all my software stopped capturing via firewire. There is no longer a 'legacy' driver and I couldn't get the Win7 legacy 1394 driver to work in Win 8.1. I know it's older tech, but I have some CanonHV20 footage I need to archive to hard drive.

This isn't a 1394 hardware/driver issue. I've tried several different cards with different chipsets. From what I've read online, this also affects high-end Pro audio equipment. Those users are not upgrading to Win 8.

I have 8.1 on my editing computer and it seems to be capturing via Firewire just fine.
I am using a Canopus ADVC 110 for my capture device it requires no drivers but windows see's it.
I am using Vegas PRO 12 but I also have Movie Studio on another computer with Firewire I will check it out and report back later today.

(edit)
Just checked my Studio 13 64bit (latest build 379 as bought on the 14th) with my windows 8.1 on a older Intel Quad core with Firewire out of my old Sony Digital 8 camcorder and it captured footage fine. I am not sure what Microsoft changed, I do not know what the 1394 Stack is.

I do have all the latest updates also.

You do! I just upgraded to from Version 10 and am really loving it. If you buy now, the cost is the upgrade price, (Like 1/2 price) and then take another 25% off. DVD Architect is still on V5. Not sure when another version is coming out.

The Architect that downloads as part of the Platinum 13 upgrade is a newer version.

Also, I tried to upgrade the current version, which was not successful.
So I had to uninstall Architect, and then install the current version.

Not really much of a problem, but thought you should be aware.

Cheers,

Bryan.

Is the Architect with Platinum 13 a later Build to 186?

Eric,
the order download link gets me the DVD A Studio 5.0.186.exe, so I'd say it's not.
