@3POINT Oops sorry, corrected it 👍 I got mixed up when he'd quoted it further down the thread,

@Selina It took me a while to find this channel again, but I was inspired by this guy's creative use of compositing and layers in his titles. There are hundreds of them, and some are 'way over the top.

I had a play with the book leaf type thing @Set showed using 3D Source Alpha & a video, nothing fancy but it was a good learning exercise. 😊

@Grazie - Yes, there is so much to learn and discover in Vegas Pro.

@Selina - OOOoooo, yes . . and have FUN!😜

Playing with the 3D Source Alpha, i moved the sides in relation to the fiery looking one so the rotation is unintentionally offset,

@Musicvid - I'll have a look at the guy's channel
@Gid - I'll have to have a go at a book myself - you've inspired me!
@Grazie - missing your experiments HINT, HINT

Variation on a theme (Again)

This time, I added a round edged frame to hide the edges and lashings of motion blur for effect (yes, I know it's way-over-the-top).

What I learnt, Motion blur is a two step prong needing (Motion Blur & Video Sampling) it works better than the competition including BorisFX, Ignite (which doesn't work on this version as you probably all know), and RE:Vision ReelSmart Motion Blur.

It has it's drawbacks ... Initially, I tried to apply it to the three layers but this meant I couldn't push it as I ended up with black frames. So the solution was to render out to a new track and just apply it to that and, as you can see, I could now push it for artistic considerations.

Why do I think it's better than it's competition?
Boris' plug-in gave blotchy blurs in the most unexpected areas of the frame. Perhaps the vector implementation is just not quite there yet?
Ignite's offering - can't be used in Vegas 19, so NUL POINTS
RE:Vision's plugin - works great provided the blurring doesn't need to be at the frame's edge - it also, however, blurred the background in places - shame!

So well done VEGAS Team!

PS: In my earlier post, I said that Vegas 19 was crashing a lot - found the problem, "Turn off QuickTime Legacy Support" - Simples!

Still on the Theme of Track Motion...

The video shows the difference in interpolation of the Linear and Slow settings ...

If we want complete control then judicious use of many linear keyframes could be used to achieve any curve we choose to imagine - but that takes time and careful calculation. It would be easier if bezier curve handles could be introduced to all keys - for Track Motion, Effects, you name. Please !!!

Take a look at Tweener of Vegasaur. Tweener can generate multiple keyframes to achieve any curves, like bouncing etc.

I can see that Vegasaur uses Robert Penner's easing calculations to effect an interesting tween: I've used these myself to produce python-scripted tweens for a programme called Carrara.

You can get to the functions yourself at: http://robertpenner.com/easing/

Final look at Vegas block tweening...

These five videos show the differences in adding smoothing to the first key and next key (I always thought Vegas moved from key to key and the last key had no effect on the previous one - but smoothing does affect the movement before it also!)

Thanks everyone for your comments, and encouragement !

@Selina 👍 I've been playing with apertures, when it's all white it looks ok, but i tried adding colour, prob is the last colour needs to overlap the first, pale blue over pink 🤔😂🤷‍♂️ might have to tilt each frame like your rings, might need to start again but still working on it,

... I tilted the events, got them to overlap correctly but get some weird bits in the middle 🤦‍♂️🤯😂

think i'm going to have to change the pivot point so it''s more like the 1st camera photo .
