@Selina - OMG! That’s truly extraordinary and inspiring.

@Grazie You are too kind!

Here's an improved version...

I took the shapes from @Former user's photo of an actual lens aperture and drew the shape in my favourite vector programme (CorelDRAW x7). Then I rotated the shape around to form an aperture and made a note of where the middle of the punched hole were and used this to set the axis offsets for X and Y on each blade. This is the calculation for the blue blade, as an example:

963-960=3 (963 is the pixel position x in CD; -960 is the offset in Vegas Motion Track; 3 is the offset to set)
89-540=-451 (89 is the pixel position y in CD; -540 is the offset in Vegas Motion Track; -451 is the offset to set)

960 and 540 is 1920/2 and 1080/2

Then it was a simple matter of animating the Z rotation, clump the layers together as children of a parent track, add effects for shadow and emboss and use the Parent Track's motion to zoom away from the camera.

Selina - Haha - That would make a great reminder to users who insist on burdening us with drawn-out speculation, confabulation, and downright fantasizing at every available opportunity.

@lan-mLMC You are right, of course there are many things that could and should be done to make the video more pleasing - but this was just an simple exercise to help me get better acquainted with Track Motion. For one thing it's too long for today's visually-educated audience. A faster pace with interesting accelerations and decelerations might make it more appealing...

@Selina 👍 I had another go, just png shapes copied from that orig photo with a bit of shadow & edge glow to give it some depth but i left the keyframes stiff and linear 👍😏

Having a go at a cube...

While all the videos have an aspect ration of 16:9, I used Pan&Crop masking to make them 1:1.
