I am not sure I am understanding this, but if you make the underneath tracks Child Tracks of the track you wish to parent, then the Parent Motion icon appears in the upper left corner of the top track or track you wish to be parent. It looks like the Parent Motion icon does not appear until you make the underneath tracks children. IDK if that's what you're asking.
If I am reading this right, Grazie, you're looking for the parent/child buttons that used to appear in the track header in VP14 and earlier.
In VP15, the parent/child selections (along with other selections) can be accessed via the 'hamburger' icon in the far top left of the track header - then select 'Edit Visible Button Set', and parent/child are the down near the bottom of the available selections.
If I have misunderstood the question, please disregard the above.

. . yes I know this too. This is what I see on the Hamburger (no cheese, lettuce or pickle):
I may be misunderstanding, but is it the Parent Motion icon that's not visible? Did you drag the Track Header border to the right after you Make Compositing Child? (Disclaimer: I'm using build 361.)
I saw Compo and thought, neah, I want TRACK Motion, not Colour stuff . . . 😎 And as soon as I clicked on it the Track above became a Parent - of course it did. Yeah, I remember now.
@vkmast This should be a sticky post somewhere. I too was looking for Parent Motion last night and thought I had lost my mind. Then found this post and saw "Did you drag the Track Header border to the right" and was like &%&$( ...OMG there it is. LOL.
