Transferring Sony Vegas pro 16 to a new PC

Hey guys!

I have Sony Vegas pro 16 on my laptop, but because this laptop has a 'U' version of the I7 processors it is ultra low power, so when I edit, especially during complex edits, it tends to lag a lot. Due to this, I bought all the parts I need to build a new PC which should be able to edit and game very smoothly, however, I do not know how to transfer Sony Vegas to it, do I just go onto my account on the MAGIX website and install it then re enter the activation key? My operating system is Windows 10 if it helps. If you know, please help it would be massively appreciated!

Yess you can if it is now only on 1 laptop.
If it is on more than the laptop or a desktop and you want it to install on a new desktop you will have to remove the registration from another device.

"sony" vegas 16 ....... now we are talking about Vegas Pro 17 from Magix

Firstly, MAGIX Software GmbH acquired Vegas in 2016. It Is *** NOT *** Sony.

You can have VP activated on two (2) PCs at a time. If you have Vegas Pro (VP) registered on only one (1) PC, VP should activate without issue with your serial #. However, you can deactivate VP on your old PC at any time. See Item # 9 in **IMPORTANT!** - INFORMATION REQUIRED TO HELP YOU

@rraud actually, the FAQ is https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-faqs-and-troubleshooting-guides--104787/. Clicking your link goes to the right place though.
