Transitions Won't Drag and Drop

I'm experiencing a strange issue in which I am unable to drag and drop certain transitions (in this case, the smear transition) into a crossfade. Whenever I try, a circle with a slash shows up over the crossfade (see image below). I thought this had something to do with the event length being small, but even after extending it, I still experience the same problem. Ironically, however, I haven't experienced any issues dragging and dropping media whatsoever, just some types of transitions. I am still able to add transitions the long way (i.e. right clicking on the crossfade, clicking on transition properties, and clicking on the transition of my choice), but it would save me time if I were able to just drag and drop them as I do with effects. The version of Vegas Movie Studio 17 Platinum installed is 17.0 (Build 223).

Is this a Vegas Transition?

The workaround you use is suggested by NewBlue. See also the suggestion in the comment below that link

AFAIK, you do need to use a workaround with some of the NB transitions.

@j-v It turns out that it's a NewBlueFX transition. Strange because some NewBlueFX transitions drop into crossfades without an issue.

@vkmast That's the workaround I have been using to add those types of transitions. Like you mentioned in the link, it appears to be a bug either with NewBlueFX, Vegas, or both. It would be even quicker if I were able to just drag and drop them into crossfades though.
