Unable to purchase movie studio 2022 upgrade

Cpadilla54 wrote on 12/8/2021, 10:30 PM

I am a Movie Studio 16 user and every time I start the application, I receive an offer to upgrade to Movie Studio 2022.

However, when I follow the link and log into the Vegas website, and I am ready to purchase the upgrade, the process gets truncated saying that nothing is in the shop cart. I then get moved to a page where the only option if to buy a yearly subscription of the software and not the upgrade that I have been previously offered.

While I can't assist with the purchase issue, please be fully aware that Movie Studio 2022 (also known as Movie Studio 18) is not an upgrade to Vegas Movie Studio 17 and earlier. Movie Studio is a different product produced by MAGIX, not by VEGAS. For more information, please see https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/read-first-movie-studio-18-vs-vegas-movie-studio--130402/

You might also want to do a forum search using the keywords Movie Studio 18 to get an idea of the reaction to MS18 by Vegas Movie Studio 17 (and earlier) users since MS18 was released in July this year. Also, you might want to try Move Studio 2022's free trial version before deciding to cross-grade to it.

@Dexcon's advice is spot on. But please note that if you really want a (MAGIX) MS 2022 (ex-MS 18) version, all purchase options can be found in the dropdown menu. (You need to "Choose a payment plan"). They seem to be preferring to market the subscription version(s). Also putting the MAGIX product currently on the VEGAS product pages is misleading.
