Unable to use software

I downloaded my Movie Studio 17 software using the registration number. After the download was complete it created an icon so I can click on it to use the software. When I clicked on it, it wanted me to put the registration number in, which I did, and it came up with an error saying it was invalid or already in use. This is VERY FRUSTRATING!! I have been messing with this software for weeks!! I'm using windows 10.

Do you get any error code #, e.g. "error code -14"? Are you sure there are no typing errors (copy and paste if possible) and the serial number is for that program (matching to the program you downloaded, e.g. MS basic vs. MS Platinum)?

Yes, I received error code -14 and everything was typed in correctly. I did it several times. I also, uninstalled the software and reinstalled it with the same result. It would download OK, but when I clicked on the shortcut icon I would have to put the registration number in and I would get the error. I just tried it again (clicked on icon) and typed in the registration number and it worked! Did you do something to it to make it work? Thanks!
