Uninstall doesnt work because DLL required for install could not run

I tried to install pro vegas 17 and it worked but after a while, I wanted a fresh vegas pro so I tried to uninstall it and because I am so dumb uninstalled all the files on my computer that had sony in their name first before uninstalling the program itself. after this, I tried to install it and said I should uninstall before reinstalling so I searched up how I can uninstall it and then I saw I did it wrong. now if I try to uninstall it through control panel uninstall it doesn't work and I can reinstall it. if someone can help me it would be appreciated. this is a picture of the problem

edit: I said sony vegas pro but it is vegas pro.

I suppose the bottom line is a nice clean install of W10. Just make sure you have saved all key files and have activation codes for your programs. Any programs that can be deactived are best deactivated prior to a new install.It is also useful to have your microsoft account info to hand.

I assume you have not taken a system image or taken advantage of the Backup & Restore tool in the control panel. It says W7 but it still works well & is free. Best of luck.

Hey i had the same problem as the guy on top but where do i find the HKLM i only see HKEY

@john-k It's short-hand for "HKEY_Local_Machine". Which the registry editor will expand if entered on the address bar. Be careful not to edit the registry by mistake, else you may need to do that window wipe after all.

Another less drastic option to try is the free version of CCleaner which can do a registry scan to remove problem items and also under tools has it's own uninstall options (this may not work if CCleaner was not installed prior to the install of V17). Worth a try before a windows new install.
