Unsuccessful install and uninstall of Vegas Pro 17

I purchased Vegas Pro 17upgrade, ( mistakenly thinking it would upgrade my installed version of Vegas Movie Studio Ver 16 to Vegas Pro 17 ), and I installed Vegas Pro 17. The program would not get past the registration screen ( I needed a prior version of Vegas Pro and I did not have a prior version of Vegas Pro) I contacted your support team to discuss the problem with them but could not resolve the problem after several back and forth conversations so I asked them to just refund my money and we would call it a day. They complied without any hesitation. THIS IS WHERE MY PROBLEM BEGINS. I removed the Vegas Pro software from my computer via the control panel uninstall procedure. After the program was uninstalled. I forgot about it. After several weeks I had to use my Vegas Movie Studio 16 program and when I clicked on my shortcut to bring up the program it presented me with the registration screen that I could not get past when trying to install Vegas Pro. I tried loading it from the .exe file, reinstalling it, but nothing I can do will fix it. ( I am using a Dell PC with windows 10 operating system ). Can you help me get this working please

Thank you

There must be some kind of misunderstanding somewhere along the line here. I just had a lengthy discussion with an online Live Chat contact person about the upgrade. I tried to triple-check with him if the basic Movie Studio version also would be eligible for upgrade pricing and finally he replied: "It worked for me when I tested it with my own Movie Studio serial so it should be good.".

Did you try to upgrade with a registered Movie Studio version serial which had not been used to upgrade before?

And of course you know that an upgrade to VPro is a totally separate install and should not affect your Movie Studio at all.
