Updating Vegas email issue with NewBlue activation

Roger Bansemer wrote on 7/7/2022, 2:39 PM

I'm trying to install NewBlue Essentials III which is quite old. I can install it but not activate it and here's why...

According to NewBlue my account with NewBlue is all in order, however they say "The issue you are experiencing is in Vegas's input window.  That message (pictured below) is coming from Vegas which means they might still have the old email linked and registered with that serial.  Unfortunately, I have no access to Vegas' accounts to fix that for you.  I suggest you contact Vegas to get your accounts sorted out."

Apparently I purchased that particular NewBlue plugin with an old email address which I no longer use and now Vegas can't authenticate it as all my NewBlue purchases

So... where and how do I get Vegas to update or straighten that out.

First of all, you really shouldn't put your NewBlue serial numbers in a public forum

Second, you really should contact NewBlue Support about issues like this

Third, the "owner" of that serial number is bansemer@bansemer.com AND roger@bansemer.com. I have removed the incorrect bansemer@bansemer@com entry so you can now activated it under roger.

Wow! I haven't tried to re install it but I think you certainly hit on the problem. I have been in touch with NewBlue for about 5 days now and they have had me change everything from my registry, delete, reinstall, and about everything else you can think of. So I did give that a shot first and they were very kind and patient.

Don't know how or where you saw the bansemer@bansemer.com or what magic you did but thanks very much.

From the New Post template: "Please be mindful of data protection. Do not publish any personal information. Examples of personal information are your email address, telephone number, credit card number, serial number or order number." So please edit out the addresses now that some of this seems to be sorted out.

@Roger Bansemer, I'm sorry about that. I will add this information to your ticket so she can see it. I did not see that ticket come through - ok, I see it was a continuation of a ticket and not a new one. I'm sure she did not realize it was under two accounts instead of one. I looked it up via the serial number which clearly showed it was under two accounts which is no longer allowed.

@Roger Bansemer, also, when installing, you only need to select the "OpenFX 64-bit" option. The other three are not needed in current versions of VEGAS. The two without "64-bit" are 32-bit versions so they won't work unless you're installing Vegas Pro 8 or older (version 8.1 was the first 64-bit version). The other one is the "DirectX" version required by versions older than 10 (OFX was first in version 10).

I want to thank you once again for this help. Naomi did her best to help but we went around and around with it so much I felt badly about taking so much of her time. It's activated now. Thanks so much.
