I own license for Movie Studio 13 Platinum and I just noticed that 14 is out. Will there be a special price if I wanted to upgrade to Vegas Movie Studio Suite 14?
That upgrade link is absolutely useless, because it has not been updated to offer version 14. It really bugs me that Magix appears to be making it deliberately difficult for existing users to upgrade. No emails yet to even announce that version 14 is released, but I have received an email about a new version of Xara on sale!
There is only one way to upgrade at the moment. Open an older version of Movie Studio and make sure NET Notify is turned on. If you are lucky enough when you pull the lever, you may get a pop-up with links to discounted upgrade pricing. However, if you ignore the pop-up and close the program, the next time you open Movie Studio you probably won't get the same offer and will end up being offered a completely unrelated product to buy.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll stop sharing that upgrade link with regard to Movie Studio 14 for the time being.
As for the emails, could that be due to the longstanding issue whereby some of us (including me) have simply never been on Magix' VEGAS mailing list? I wonder if anyone has had emails about Movie Studio 14.
Six weeks after VEGAS Pro 14 was released I received my first special upgrade offer email from MAGIX Vegas, so it seems I'm on their mailing list. Still, today I'm one of those potential upgraders who have not seen any of the VEGAS Movie Studio 14 product line upgrade pricing offers either in any of the email folders including the spam folders or through Net Notify. Instead, I keep getting irregularly VPro upgrade offer emails and regularly VPro related offers in my MSP 13 Net Notify. Please MAGIX, make it clear if those of us that use (Sony) Vegas Pro or (Sony) MS(P) are not eligible for the email/NN offers. I've seen comments though from some users of both programs that they have received these offers.
As another poster today comments in another thread, neither has the upgrade (Magix Support) page been updated to offer any v 14 upgrade option for all of us. I find it rather inexplicable that many of us registered long-time users of the MS product line and active forum members (including myself up to last week) would need to go through hoops such as contacting support let alone writing tirades like this to the forum.
In spite of VMS(P) 14 looking like having been released in its initial state just to meet the deadline of late Feb. 2017, I'm still hoping to receive within a reasonable time-frame the option to consider upgrading to v 14 at the upgrade price that some prioritized users have been offered.
I found a[n] upgrade popup when I opened version 13..
Yes, I noticed that in your previous comment. I and many others don't find that popup, ATM.

I also find it totally inexplicable that these two (Nick and Derek) that are probably helping MAGIX Vegas and users more than anybody are not even getting the courtesy of being included on the mailing list.
