Upgrade from VP18 to VP19

ROBERT-ANDERSON wrote on 8/18/2021, 11:22 AM

I purchased VP18 in July, which included the upgrade to VP19, and asked for and received the "understanding" that I could upgrade to VP19 when it became available in August. I have been looking for the last two days on how to download my upgrade to VP19 and all I get is links to "BUY" the VP19 upgrade. I have already purchased the upgrade in my order on July 13 2021. Where and how do I download my upgrade to VP19?? I use Win10.

You'll get an e-mail. Sometimes it takes a day or two to go out, so be patient. 19 has only been available for a few hours.

Thanks for the heads up. I was beginning to get a little worried. Best!

They did a similar offer when 18 launched, it took 2-3 days for all the e-mails to go out.

Yes, it's like standing in line early to buy a product and when you pay, they make you go to the back of the line and wait for others to get it first.?

I have been wondering why pre order customers are getting the middle finger from the company. Any other company would commercially do the reversed, pre-order customers usually get early access to the software; at least one day in advance of the official release, especially so in the gaming industry.

It wasn't exactly a "pre-order" as it is getting the current version while getting access to the new version as well. That said, I do agree they fumbled this promotion, again. The codes should have been ready day and date.

I'm so confused and only hope I didn't make a colossal mistake that will leave me not upgrading again. I upgraded from Pro to Pro Studio 18 end of May. Contacting Magix was and is impossible. No form to contact, no "chat" link, nothing. Now I'm reading 2 for 1 offers, other free upgrades and I just spent all that money less than 2 months ago not to get a free upgrade to 19? This would really be bad... This is all so confusing.

vkmast wrote on 8/22/2021, 7:40 AM

The 2 for 1 offers were valid from July 1 to August 17.

@Mimo and not to confuse things even more, please note that there is no Pro Studio 18, only Pro Suite.

(You might of course ask shop@magix.net if they would consider you eligible for getting the upgrade. No promises.)

I feel that I have been "bait and switched"!! The understanding i had was that I would pay for the VP18 and would automatically be able to update to P19 when it came out in August. I am deeply upset as I paid for 18 IN JULY with the understanding that I would get to upgrade to 19 at no additional cost. So have i been lied to or what!?? I am very disillusioned right now.

@ROBERT-ANDERSON if you don't get the email containing your serial number(s) during the coming week, contact shop@magix.net. Check your spam folder as well.

Pls see reports of a couple late "arrivals" here.

@vkmast - Thanks. I just heard back from Magix, who didn't address the challenges reaching them. They seem to say I need to buy a second upgrade to get Vegas 19 less than 90 days after my first upgrade. The additional irony is that it appears you can get a free upgrade to v19 just buying 18 new now for literally just 2/3 of the second upgrade offer I'm being presented by Magix at startup with my new version 18. Talk about adding insult to injury...

Anyway, as paying another "upgrade" makes no sense at all and rendering using Magix formats for my "new" Vegas Pro 18 is not working on my new Intel machine and SSDs either (only the Sony ones) + they have moved attention to 19.... it seems the best plan of action would be just divest myself from a foolish decision to upgrade spring/summer. I've got Vegas 18 Pro Suite with five Boris FX packages and Zynaptic Unviel and will take any reasonable offer in PM and move to another video editor with which I have some familiarity. Thanks again for your effort.
