Upgrade paths to Vegas Pro 18 Suite and Boris FX promotional add-ons:

So I bought Vegas Movie Studio 17 for $79. When you open the application, you're prompted to upgrade to Vegas Pro for $99, but apparently no Boris FX are bundled with this offer. I mostly want Boris' particle effects unit and the titler unit. So:

1. Upgrade to Vegas Pro 18 Suite for $299:

Current on-site promotion says it includes the Boris FX Titler (which I really want). However, the Vegas Pro 18 Suite comparison table shows that the Suite version also includes the Boris FX particle unit (v2020.5), among several others. If I choose this particular offer (the one on the upgrade section of the site), it says I get the titler. But are all the other Boris FX plug-ins listed in the comparison chart also included (e.g., particle unit)?

My understanding is that you should get what the product pages state plus the free extra in the current Upgrade offer.

Awesome! Thank you! Hopefully that's the case because Magix' site doesn't necessarily make that ultra-clear. The Boris FX particle unit was bundled a few weeks ago and now it's included in the suite-version (according to the comparison page), so I'm assuming that the included FX units on the comparison [and product] pages change whenever a new promotion is offered.

Edit: Oh, duh! I just looked at your screenshot. Didn't even see that on the product page!

The current suite-upgrade offer bundles Boris FX' titler, which seems super-cool. If I actually get titler and particle effects for the $299 upgrade price (and the suite!), I think that's a pretty great deal!

vkmast: Thanks again for your post—can you provide a link to that screenshot? I can't seem to find it on the Magix site. I'm having some difficulty parsing exactly what you get with the Pro 18 Suite since the effects plug-ins are described using slightly different wordings than those that appear on the Boris FX' site. Specifically, the Boris FX "Film Style" unit (in the Magix' product description) vs. what Boris FX calls on their site their "Continuum Stylize Unit."

This is important since I specifically want the "Boris FX Continuum Stylize" unit, which includes the "Damaged TV filter" [which] "emulates analogue TV damage and poor signal reception," and especially the, "Integrated Beat Reactor" audio-driven animation plug-in. Not sure if that's exactly the same plug-in as mentioned in the product description screenshot you posted, which describes a similar sounding feature as simply the "Film Style" unit (which may possibly be something completely different).

Note that the current promotional bundle for all of the Movie Studio 17 upgrades does in fact say they specifically include the "Boris FX Continuum Stylize" unit. Thanks!

They do state that VPro 18 Suite comes with "Boris FX Continuum Film Style Unit (v2020.5)". According to https://borisfx.com/products/continuum-units/ (2021) Film Style and Stylize are different units.

Dexcon's comment here re bonus plugins is worth considering.
