Can you take a screen shot of that? The only version of VP21 that has only one install is 365.

I don't think this special offer should actually be different re using the software with a perpetual license on two devices.

@vkmast and @mike-rawlinson, I received an email with an offer to upgrade which includes New Blue FX TotalFX. I already have VP21 Post 365. I decided to see if it was one or two installations, and like yours, it's only one.... hmmmm... first time I've seen only one install for anything other than 365.

I thought that maybe with Suite and Post, which includes Boris FX, who only allows 1 activation, that this might be why only one install. But looking at all the purchase options (new, upgrades, subscriptions), they all say one installation. A new policy on installs?

More likely a grammatical error by the marketing department. The forward slash in '1 Installation / activation instructions' implies that the instructions apply to installation and activation. A better statement would have been '1 instruction for installation and activation'. I would be very surprised if Magix abandoned the '2 installations for perpetual licence' policy. Maybe one of the moderators can raise it with the devs.

@Jack S I hope you are right. A grammatical error from the marketing department. It could also be read as them supplying one installation file and one activation number, but it could still be installed on 2 computers, which not implied or mentioned. That is the part that is not clear. Nor do I have any screenshots from past purchases where we can install on 2 computers.

Well i will hold back until they come back to me ..... I personally hate 365 as a year goes by so quick and I don't think the extra bits you get after just a year is worth it..... most things you never use as far as I'm concerned..... but most companies are doing it as it makes more money .

The Smartscription is more attractive as you get 365 online access for 2 years AND can keep using the software at the end of it if you decide to stop paying it (minus online access). It is one license though.

What is Smartscription ????? I have never seen it ....where is the option for getting it.

Ok...clarification from marketing...

The line in that promotion refers to the Installation guide that is included with the purchase of VEGAS, not the number of activations. The number of activations has remained the same as it has before. Perpetual licenses may be activated on two machines simultaneously. 365 subscriptions have a single activation. SmartScriptions have 2 activations available like perpetual licenses do.

I hope that makes sense. Sorry for the confusion. I have asked the marketing team to provide better language for that specific line in future promotions.

That's actually very positive, though unexpected (thought it was like 365 so 1). Wish they were all 2 so we wouldn't have this confusion anymore.
