Will upgrading directly from vegas pro 14 to 16 will cost less than the actual offer of Vegas pro 15 + 16 free ? What to expect ? I really do not need version 15.
It looks like upgrading from 14 to 15 is $249 and that's the same price to get 15 now + 16 when it comes out. There's no reason to believe that upgrading from 14 to 16 would be much cheaper than that unless you catch some once-in-a-lifetime Black Friday deal, and even then I don't think you'd save much more than $50 or something like that.
I'd think you'd want to go ahead and get the $249 offer for 15 + 16 versus just paying the upgrade price of 14 to 16. Basically, Magix is giving you 15 for free because the demand for it will be gone once 16 comes out, but 15 is just as good if not better than 14, so I'd do that.
But I'd do the deal soon, because 16 is coming soon.
Having both 14 and 15, I'd say 15 is significantly better than 14. And once Magix pulls the 15 + 16 deal, it is just 16 and that's it. You never know when you might want an extra license for the program. Just my thoughts.
I agree with karma17. Note though that the upcoming VP 16 upgrade offers may include (instead of the 15+16) some 3rd party plug-ins "free as part of the offer" (example).
Going on past performance, probably not, and like karma17 says there might be special offers which save you like $50. Which I don't sneeze at and will hang around for, because US$249 currently is close to AU$350 which point for me is way above where psychological and financial blockage sets in, especially given that it's not for the whole program, just for a few extra features, s. So if you don't need or even want 15, why bother?
OK, rant, I know about the length of a piece of string, but in my view in terms of value compared to product for new users the upgrade is way overpriced. Apologies, Magix, I understand, some people want the latest and don't care what they pay for it, some people actually need the new features and a lot of them reluctantly will bite the bullet, good for you and them, other people either just don't have the money or prefer value, you've obviously got a better idea where the price line gets drawn.
