Use pre-render in final render

I'm using the neat video plug in and rendering takes forever.  (8 days for 1.5 hrs of video).  I pre-rendered the entire movie in case I lost power. I selected the criteria for pre-render that should match my final render out (1440x1080 60i main concept blu-ray).  After 8 days, all of the timeline is pre-rendered, but when I choose "make movie" it wants to re-render the whole thing.  Same if I choose "render as" and select the profile I used.  How do I get sony vegas movie studio platinum 11 to use the pre-rendered files in the final render?

This is only a suggestion but you could try opening a new project and drag your rendered file(s) to the timeline then export.  They will probably get rerendered but it will be a lot quicker.

I'd rather not go that route, but I'll consider it.

I can only find 4 pre-rendered files..  There should be 597. Any idea where they might be hiding?

C:\Users\*yourusername*\Appdata\Local\Sony\Vegas Movie Studio Platinum HD\11.0 ?

Nope.  Not there.  In the project settings I went to the location listed.  I don't see any files of significant size or recognize file names as prerender

Get Everything Search Engine.

Tried everything search engine.  I still only see 4 files, about 50mb each.

You probably don't have those files then unless they're hidden.

What's your setting in General Preferences re "Save active prerenders on project close"?

What location are you using for temp files?

puck1263 wrote on 8/31/2016, 1:32 PM

Save active prerenders is checked.  I looked in the folder in preferences where temp files are.  Windows settings are to show hidden files.

The temp folder for pre renders is listed under FILE>PROPERTIES. It may be the same, but not always.
