Using the proxy creation button and rendering...

When you create proxies using the in-Vegas method, does it automatically use the original versions again when you render it out?

My understanding is when you create the proxies in Vegas, it uses them automatically in preview and draft mode?

Does it create a copy of the file permanently or something? Bit ignorant of me here; i'm used to manually creating proxies, or just attempting to plow through with high processing power lol.

Using Vegas 17 on the latest version.

Yes it does use the originals for the render.

Switch to better preview quality like best/full to see the original file at any time. Preview/full, etc. uses the proxy.

Yes, it creates a permanent proxy file with the same name as the original media but a different extension. Try making a proxy of one file and you'll see it with your media.

Hi, the proxy files for me are sent to my project folder where my orig footage is, SFVPO files

I've got a 5k project on Vegas at the mo with proxies created, the best full playback is Preview Full.

Thank you guys! Good tip on the help document within Vegas, Gid - I don't know why it never occurred to me to use that. Probably the same reason I still don't know all my shortcut keys, lol.

A known issue I believe.
