V18 Start up Problems

Hi there,

for about a week now I have a start up problem with V18 / Build 527: although the software has been successfully registered (as I can see in my account data), every time I open the app (Windows 10/64 bit) I am supposed to re-register it. The necessary data (Serial Number and eMail address) are pre-filled by the software; however I still need to press the yellow "register" button and a few others until V18 is finally launched. I have obviously tried a fresh start of the PC, unfortunately to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought about reinstalling but am a bit wary that I will lose all my preferences, templates, etc.

Reinstalling has no impact on preferences or templates.

sorry, I should have been more clear: I did try to reinstall, to no avail. However, afaik there is also the option to re-install and reset Vegas to its original factory settings. That's what I have not attempted yet, because there I fear I will lose my preferences and settings.

Reset does do that though may not solve the license issue while a reinstall should.

I did and they since answered that I should try to reinstall, but to erase a file called installation.ini before. I will do that probably on the weekend
