Thanks for the reply, but after a reinstall of Ultimate which was suggested, I still didn't see the program appear in the "View/Extensions" menu. I also do not see Scatter Shot 3D, another VASST extension I have used for years. The only extension I see is "Vegasaur".

Both Ultimate S and ScatterShot work perfectly in VP13, but not available in VP17. I see both programs in the Windows Control Panel so I know they are installed. Could it be if they were activated in VP13, they can't be used in VP17. I have both V13 and VP17 installed and use both.

I'll play with it some more, but right now I'm out of ideas to try.

I don't have any of these extensions -- nor Vegas 17 -- but if you are using Vegas 13, is it still the Sony version of Vegas?  I think that the VASST products had to be updated to work with Vegas after Magix acquired it due to some internal namespace changes -- i.e. removing "Sony" from some dll function calls or something.  Hopefully somebody else here can advise...

Update: Ooops -- I see you clearly spelled out Ultimate S 4.2.1, which appears to be their latest version. Sorry.

The Vegasaur developers are always right on top of Vegas changes, to the point where I get the notice of new Vegas releases from them before I hear from Magix. They haven't ever charged me an upgrade fee, although many new features have been added. Wish everyone was this attentive & eager to please.

@Rich Parry As others have pointed out, VP13 was the Sony version, VP17 is a MAGIX version and MAGIX made all Sony extensions incompatible so you need to download the latest installers for Ultimate S Pro and ScatterShot and simply re-install them so that the MAGIX version of our plug-ins get installed. Here is a link to our Download page.

If you had installed VP14, 15 or 16, then you would have updated back then and VP17 would continue to work with Ultimate S Pro and ScatterShot, which is why others are saying, "It's working for me". It was only because you are coming from an older Sony version of Vegas Pro that things stopped working.

Let me know if you have any difficulty. Not all of our installers have been updated to recognize VP17 stand-alone yet but I'm working on that. I got Ultimate S Pro, ScatterShot 3D, and Mayhem updated. Others are in the works.

Thanks for the clarification and explaining the root cause of my Utlimate/ScatterShot difficulty. You are right, I skipped VP14, 15, and 16, I upgraded from 13 to 17.

I'm glad you responded so I won't waste time troubleshooting. I'll assume in the next few weeks you will get some time to create a new installer to fix my issue.

@Rich Parry I'm sorry if my instructions weren't clear. There is nothing to wait for. The installers for Ultimate S Pro, ScatterShot 3D, and Mayhem are already updated and 100% compatible with Vegas Pro 17. Just download the latest installers from our web site (http://vasstsoftware.com/download) and re-install.

Let me know if these installers do not fix your issue.
