Vegas 12 Trim Event End problem

Teetime wrote on 10/27/2019, 2:16 PM

I have a (Sony) Vegas 12 problem I hope someone can help me with. When I click at the end of an event to trim it, Vegas immediately activates expanded track mode (i.e., AB tracks). I can press number 5 on the numeric keypad to return to the single track mode, but as soon as I click again to trim it expands track mode again. I'm on the latest version of Windows 10 and suspect there is some incompatibility between that, or drivers and my too old version of Vegas. Anyone know if there is something I'm missing on this?

Maybe you have a problem with your mouse.
Normal is double clicking on the edge of an event to expand the tracks and for going back to normal.
At least that is also the case with my VPro 12

Yes, it should require a double-click. Either your mouse is set to double-click or it is malfunctioning.

In my experience, one of the first things that goes wrong with an ageing mouse is that it does a double click instead of a single click. In fact I've noticed this week that my current Microsoft mouse has started doing it occasionally. Sometimes it can help to open it up and give it a good clean. I seem to recall prolonging a mouse's life before by spraying electrical contact cleaner into the 1st button's microswitch.

Often experiencing this with my elderly mice too. Btw, double clicking as often being the cause of the problem was mentioned also in the linked general EEM thread.

Bingo. Thanks for the responses. Funny that I haven't noticed the problem in any other applications but when I try my Wacom with Vegas it works correctly. So, I'll get a new mouse. BTW @vkmast, that's an entertaining thread you reference.

**Update**
I just installed new logitech wireless mouse and as expected it did fix the double click problem that was messing with trim event end.
