Vegas 13 won't render loop region using save to disc w/advance options

I have been using vegas 11 for years now and to finally go to 64 bit on my windows 10 computer I decided to upgrade to vegas 13. On 11 I could 'render loop region' into a movie (save to my hard drive), select any format of audio/video quality (say AppleTV720-24 MP4) and just crank out that section. I record long music video takes or concerts which I break into separate songs/takes. So I import the whole project from my camera, then take a segment off the front, edit it, and render it. Works fast. This time I wanted to be a bit fancier and use Titler Pro 3, but couldn't get them to work together. So I upgraded to Vegas 13. Now, when I push the Make Movie button (or select from project menu) in 13, select 'save to my hard drive', I can check the box 'render loop region' but 13 renders in a higher resolution than I need or want. If I select 'advance options' I can select the AppleTV 720P24 option, BUT, it no longer does 'render loop region' - it tries to render the whole thing! 13 Ignores the 'render loop region' box on the previous screen/window once you push advanced options. So instead of 1 to 3 minute song, it tries to render the whole hour long project. So I can either render in more resolution than I need for my 1 to 3 minutes, or I can get the resolution I want, but it will render the whole #$@#$ file. This is a huge step backwards for my work flow - is there anyway to default the MP4 to the settings I want to use, and used to use in Vegas 11??? 😡 Or is there a way to make Render Loop Region work once advanced selected?

I guess by Vegas 11 and 13 you are here referring to Movie Studio Platinums 11 and 13. Anyway, in MSP 13 click the down arrow left of "Render Options" in Advanced options > Render As to open the pull-down menu and see if the "Render loop region only" box is checked there as well. If not, check it and try again.

Thank you for your reply. Yes you are correct it is actually MSP 11 and 13. I don't know if Pro is different. The Render Loop Region box appears on the first screen where you select where it asks what format do you wish to render in. When you select advanced options, that box (or option) no longer appears and is ignored. You'd think that option would carry forward as pre selected, or the box would appear on the next screen. Here is the first screen of MSP 13 render to disk. and you can see the option. Then when hit advance the option no longer appears: I looked at all the options tor customizing the template, and Render loop option does not appear. Meanwhile, i still have MSP 11 loaded, and it has the screen as same as the help FAQs on this site, with both the Render Loop option AND the ability to select your format. So by upgrading I lost a piece of functionality that was important to me. By them trying to make it 'easier' to 'help' me, they have made it far worse. All I want is that box to go to the 2nd screen I've posted and I would be much happier again.

I wonder if that started in MSP 12 or 13 and if I could downgrade to 12 if it didnt... 😠

See below. You have it (Render loop region only) in the Render As window of MSP 13.

"in MSP 13 click the down arrow left of "Render Options" in Advanced options > Render As to open the pull-down menu"

Thank you so much, I get flustered and sometimes can't find the right leaf for the tree. That will help me immensely. So glad there are people here smarter than I am.

vkmast thanks for posting this I spent ages hunting around for this on MSP14 and gave up and just deleted all I the events I did not want then rendered the part I wanted. The button and ability to find it is not helpful and there was nothing in the help file I could find. I wish I had searched for this earlier would of saved me a lot of time. Thank you.

@pioneer109 congrats on a successful search on the forum. Unfortunately the functions are somewhat limited, but this thread may be of help to "Find..."
