What file type are the downloaded music files?

I don't know if they play in VLC. I'm not familiar with VLC. The files play in my Windows media player, they also play in Onedrive. I tried to upload a youtube music file on here and it froze.

Are you able to give us a screenshot of your VMS interface where you are looking for that file in the Vegas Explorer?

j-v, how did you get VMS to open the YT file? Is there a certain setting that I'm not aware of? I downloaded the YT files to "Pics". When I select "Add Media" from VMS, and open "Pics" the Youtube files do not show up. All other files in the folder show. Maybe I have faulty software. Also I don't know how to take a screen shot of the interface, sorry.

I downloaded your file to my desktop and loaded it from that position into Vegas. But I think every "normal" location will do, unless "pics".
Maybe the program expect a pic and not an audio file at that location.

I learned how to do a screen shot, but I don't know how to make a screen shot video. I hope this helps somewhat.

vkmast, I aready had "All Media Files" selected. I just realized when "AMF" is selected the Youtube files are hidden. When I changed that setting to "All Files" I am able to see the Youtube music in the folder. I can even open the file in VMS, but the music is scrambled. I can't hear music, just a screeching sound when I try to play the music.

It's the detailed version description and it should be version 15 build 157 in your case.

It's fixed! Thank you guys for your help. The build of Movie Studio 15 Platinum I had was 147. I downloaded, and installed the update, and it works great now. Thanks again!

Hello.

I seem to have the same problem. The build 157 is not the solution. I installed the Movie Studio 15 with build 157 on my new desktop (Asus AIO, I7, 16gb RAM) a couple of days ago. I'm working on my first project now and when I add the mp3 to the timeline the sound is just a scrambled noice. It plays perfectly on Windows Mediaplayer and VLC.

I use the "Add media" to import into the Project but I can´t see the mp3 in MS "Explorer".

I need help.

The MP3-file do show up i MS Explorer now. Had to choose the "Show all media files". The problem remains. MS doesn't play the mp3-file. Here is the properties on a screenshot:

I think that file is not a mp3 file, because at the file properties you see that VMS does not use the mp3 plug2.dll to open the file and you see there also that it is not a "MPEG layer-3" file but a "normal" MPEG.
Maybe you can recode that file in an audio editor into MPEG3 layer-3(mp3) with at least 192 kbps.

I've tried different mp3-files: downloaded files, ripped from CD:s, files used in older MS-projekts, converted WMA-files with VLC. They all play fine on my old laptop with Movie Studio 14 Platinum but not on my new desktop with Movie Studio 15 Platinum.

When I compare the properties of the mp3-file opened on my old desktop (MS14) with the properties shown on my new desktop (MS15) I see differences under "Stream" and under "Plug-in". Can this be the problem and how do I solve it ?:

What are there the possibilities in Options/Preferences for the audio devices?
