Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinium crashes at opening

Hi,

I have recently purchased Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinium. It has been working correctly for a couple of projects, however now it fails to work whenever I try to add a new video clip to the timeline or switch to the power user mode.

I have uninstalled it from the PC and installed it again. Without success.

Problem Description
   Application Name:    Movie Studio Platinum
   Application Version: Version 16.0 (Build 142)
   Problem:             Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
   Fault Module:        C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll

Any ideas how to fix it?

If it worked before, try resetting the software to default settings. Be sure to be able to place a checkmark and delete the cache (point 4 in the instructions).
