VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum not registering

I purchased VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum as a digital download through Amazon and was sent the download link and serial number.
When trying to register I'm getting: "The serial number you entered is invalid or may apply to another product. Please make sure you entered it correctly or check whether you accidentally entered the serial number of another product. If the problem persists, you can get help on the support website. Error code: -14"

Uninstalling and reinstalling gets the same result.

My understanding is that with Amazon purchases you get a voucher code which you redeem on the Magix site which then sends you the download link and serial number. Is that how you obtained yours?

Amazon directs you to download it from the Amazon Games and Software Library associated with your account and gives you the serial number.

One of the comments on the Amazon listing says "Note: like others mentioned, you may get the incorrect key from Amazon. That is what happened to me. I just forwarded the Amazon order email with the key to Magix support email (see the product Q&A here for it). They sent me the correct key in 1 business day. That's great! Kudos to them." I don't see the product Q&A on the listing anymore, but that's what I am trying to find.

@EricLNZ Seems "the other" Eric was quoting someone else who had found the solution. I think he is still "trying to find" that one.

The Amazon comment implies that contacting "Magix support" with the seller's "order email" helped. Maybe actually VEGAS Support or even shop@magix.net or infoservice@magix.net
