In MVMS 14 Platinum you still need to speed up, render, import, and repeat these until you're satisfied. As of Vegas Pro 14, see this article https://vegas-magazine.com/velocity-envelope/

To get extra speed on VP I right click the clip and Properties and adjust playback back rate to Max and also use the Velocity envelope to increase further.

That's VP(ro), the OP has VMS14P.

Thanks for your replies. There are many videos out there concerning this but most do not specify which program and to a new user (me) this was confusing. I'm coming from gopro software which probably could not be more basic, but their speed control is unlimited... at least I never reached the limit and sometimes I had a clip at 5000%! A big adjustment for me and I don't understand why this good software would be so lacking in this area. Thanks for your help!.

Maybe you should use the timelapse recording mode of your Gopro to create a timelapse, instead of creating a timelapse from a normal recording afterwards in post.

Or use VegasPro, which can speed up to 1000% max.

Yes I have considered that, but the transitions from normal speed to high speed aren't easily anticipated beforehand. Upgrading to Vegas Pro increases speed to only 10x but for a substantially high cost...and even 10x is not close to the usual high speeds I use to replay the time compressed clips. Although I really do like my new ax-100, the software choices that Sony offers are dismal and the vegas upgrade for $40.00 really didn't do anything for me but drop my account by $40.00, so if I cannot find a workaround, I may just go back to my gopro entirely but I will complete one project in vegas and try to get around the time compressed clips by using a transition. Not optimal because I make how-to videos and I like to show all the actions even if they are sped up, so the viewer has good confidence that I actually show the complete process (or processes). I did also download Davinci Resolve and it does have the ability to speed and slow by a much higher factor than Vegas Pro. So, I will also do one project with it and then I should be able to decide what route I want to take. Maybe I should also look into another brand of camera? Thanks for your advice.
