Vegas post 365 Renewal?

Nizar-AbuZayyad wrote on 5/3/2023, 6:10 AM

I purchased a Vegas Pro Post 365 subscription last year for $250 and want to renew it for 2023. However, I'm unsure which option to choose due to the different plans available. I contacted the Magix sales team, and they informed me that my subscription would automatically renew for $359 if I don't cancel. But on the Magix website, I see a yearly subscription for $120 and another option for $200. The various options have left me confused, especially since the sales team mentioned that renewal costs more than purchasing a new license.

I primarily use Vegas Pro and don't require the additional programs in the bundle, such as Vegas Effects, Stream, or Image. I only need the latest version of Vegas Pro and access to the Vegas Hub. Can you recommend the best approach for renewing? Should I purchase Vegas Pro separately and then subscribe to the 365 plan? I'm having trouble finding this information on the Magix website due to the conflicting details.
My license expires next month, and I'd like to resolve this issue promptly.

Vegas Pro the editing software is in the Vegas Edit 365 package. The Pro package has other addons bundled in and gives access to certain cloud features. See the comparison for details: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/product-comparison/#productMenu

Renewal does seem to cost more.

Not sure about renewal costs but if you let the license expire would you then be eligible for new user pricing?

The VEGAS product pages are here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/

(click the globe button on the black bar at the top of that page to change to your area's version of that URL)

Th version comparison table is here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/product-comparison/#productMenu

Please note that the core VEGAS Pro program is included in all options. You don't (need to) purchase Vegas Pro separately and then subscribe to the 365 plan.

@vkmast

In Edit they are making it very limited, they removed the Text to speech and speech to text also for royalte stock its very limited concering resolution etc.. i beleive that is not fair..

Royalty-free stock content (Edit: limited, Pro: unlimited HD, Post: unlimited up to 4K)

Text to Speech (Pro and Post)

Speech to Text (Pro and Post)

If I subscribe for a new year now, even though my current subscription hasn't expired yet, will I receive a new license code, or how will this process work? My current subscription expires in June, and I noticed there's an offer on the Magix website until May 23rd.

Vegas Pro Edit 365 is the entry level subscription model and therefore the least expensive option. If you want a better featured version of Vegas Pro 365 then you'll need to opt for a higher version of Vegas Pro but that of course comes with a higher cost. That's no different to buying an entry level computer and expecting the features and performance of better spec'd versions of that line of computers but at no extra cost; or buying a base model of a car and expecting the features and performance only available in high-end models of that range. It's the old maxim: you get what you pay for.

Please take into account that text-to-speech and VV incurs usage costs to MAGIX which is covered by the higher subscription costs of the Vegas Pro and POST subscription versions. if you don't require text-to-speech and VV or stock content, then the Edit version is the one to go for.

@Nizar-AbuZayyad License code will most likely be new, check by emailing shop@magix.net

(Ref. https://www.magix.com/int/terms-and-conditions/ part II Special provisions for software subscriptions)

"i" button": "Subscription and cancellation conditions: VEGAS Post 365 will be available immediately after payment and activation. The charge for the minimum term is payable as a single sum upon conclusion of the contract. The minimum term begins on the date of purchase. The contractual period of VEGAS Post 365 will be automatically extended by 12 months at a time until you cancel the agreement. You will be informed well in advance if the extension rate or taxes included change. A cancellation is possible up to 1 month before the end of the contract period. To cancel the contract, please send an email stating your customer number to: infoservice@magix.net"

Please see also your My Account > My contracts if you can cancel your current 365 there.

Btw, would it be fair if the differently-priced options all had the same features?
