Updating to latest drivers for video doesn't always work with Vegas.

Any suggestions?

Personally, I follow the rule, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” and do not upgrade any drivers that work. Especially not those from NVIDIA, whose new drivers always break something, always! So, my suggestion is to go back to the drivers that worked.

I just updated them on Friday. They are the newest according to tech support. I called them before I updated. I had an issue with another program that is why I updated the drivers. Now Vegas is unstable. I have a crash every tine I try and make a font transparent. I drag the slider and it freezes. It does it on 15 and 16 Pro.

But still you don say what those "newest" drivers are.

You can finf them yourself by rightcliking your desktop and choose Nvidia Configurationscreen and there go to menu help. There click on "Systeminformation" and you see this

Okay I found it and it says Driver version: 416.34 GeForce GTX 1070 I also updated the Intel Graphics display drivers to the newest version as well Friday. I just tried changing the video acceleration to the GeForce card and so far its stable. Still playing with it to see if I can crash it again.

I too had big problems with the latest update and rolled back to 399.07, which is a little (slightly) better.

Okay I was able to crash Vegas Pro 15 but Vegas Pro 16 was fine. Here is the crashing version:

@Den24601 try v.399.24 if you have trouble with FX not showing.

Worried about new issues if I roll back.

RogerS wrote on 10/21/2018, 6:49 PM

I had problems with the Intel and 15 with my 1050. I rolled the Intel drivers back but still use the Nvidia latest ones.

Thanks. I installed 399.24 and it seems to be OK. I had some issues with 416.34, not with just Vegas, like excessive periods of black screen during booting, hanging with Hitfilm and general non-responsiveness.
