Vegas Pro 15 vs Vegas Pro Edit 15

Does anyone know if the basic Vegas Pro editing program is the same for both Vegas Pro and Vegas Pro Edit?

I spoke to a sales rep who said that they are the same thing (that Edit is not a 'lite' version), but then another rep just emailed me with a very ambiguous message "Yes, Vegas Pro 15 Edit is a lower tier of Vegas Pro".

It looks like they are essentially the same program, but that Vegas Pro has some extras...?

Please help!

See the comparison table. See also the product pages for what's included in the current offers.

Yes, I have been looking at the website and I think that the basic program is common for both versions (I wish I could confirm this as I'm waiting to buy it)...

The only difference I can see is that Edit comes without;

* Blu-ray and DVD Disc™ Authoring software

* NewBlueFX Filters Ultimate

* HitFilm Movie Essentials

* Sapphire Render Unit

* NewBlueFX Titler Pro 5

It's probably a stupid question, but basically I am asking;

If I bought both Vegas Pro 15 and Vegas Pro Edit 15, would the basic editing program look and be the same (apart from the 5 items listed above)?

If anyone knows for sure, please let me know!

The "Vegas Pro" part is exactly the same in both packages. The "Edit" package is only Vegas Pro. The other package includes the things you mentioned in addition to Vegas Pro.
