At least try resetting, full instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/. (Please note all points there including the * and follow exactly.)

I've tried that, it didn't fix it
it says there is an "Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000094" and "a fault with igdrcl64.dll" I found a thread about it but I need someone to explain what to do like I'm five because I'm very confused and don't want to accidentally damage my system.

RogerS wrote on 4/1/2021, 5:57 AM

That's an Intel Graphics Driver? Try uninstalling, downloading the latest version from your computer maker or Intel and reinstalling it?

Feel free to link to the threads you found if you want more explanation.

DervlaJ wrote on 4/1/2021, 5:58 AM

can you explain how to do that in steps? I really have no idea

Dexcon wrote on 4/1/2021, 6:14 AM

Lots of hits on an online search about this dll problem, one of them relating to a MAGIX product:

https://www.magix.info/us/forum/error-igdrcl64-dll--1219011/ ... which has a 'solved' result to one of the suggestions.

 like I'm five

Unless this is a language translation problem and isn't meant to represent your age, you may need to consult an adult re avoiding damaging your computer. BTW, I did research online modern expressions using I'm Five but found nothing.

Okay so by "explain it to me like I'm five" I mean that I have no idea about anything to do with computers or drivers and am very cautious about deleting the wrong file.
I am an adult and understand that you are telling me to uninstall and reinstall the driver but I need you to explain how to do that because I don't know how.
"Explain it to me like I'm five" means explain it in a really basic and simplistic way because I find that forum too confusing to understand e.g

Step 1: Click this
Step 2: Then Click this
Step 3: Then do this

Thanks

The solution in the link that I gave you is much the same as @RogerS commented a bit earlier.

No-one on the forum knows the intricacies of your computer and therefore can't take you through a click-by-click lesson in your computer's processes - this is not a Vegas Pro settings issue. If you need assistance with uninstalling and re-installing your computer's Intel graphics driver, you will need to consult your computer's user manual or look for a tutorial on doing so on YouTube.

Hi DervlaJ, you haven't provided enough information to give you the steps you need. What is your computer maker, what is your CPU, what is your GPU? If you don't know type in "system information" next to the Windows logo (bottom left). It will say your processor, model, etc. Then click on components/display and it will say your graphics card(s).

To update a graphics driver, go to the website of the company which made your computer (i.e. HP, Dell, etc.) They should have a customer page or a software update page. Most have a tool which can scan your computer and find the latest drivers.

An alternative is to go to Intel's website (assuming you have an Intel processor with Intel GPU) and use this tool to update your driver: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html

To uninstall the driver first, type in "device manager" to the search bar, click on display adapter, choose the Intel one and right-click "uninstall device." Then install the new driver you downloaded. I had to do this as I couldn't install Intel's DCH drivers over the one from my OEM (Dell).

Hopefully this gets you started. Online or phone tech support from your computer maker may also be able to assist you if it's not enough.

Hi,
Thank you for the detailed explanation! I had a look through, and fidgeted with some things. My computer runs on windows 10 and is a HP so apparently has "custom drivers" that i wasn't able to download. I managed to "roll back" the driver to an earlier version and that seemed to fix it. Is this okay to do? I'm scared to update the driver again just in case it doesn't work with vegas again!

RogerS wrote on 4/1/2021, 7:50 AM

If it's using a custom HP driver you would have to uninstall it and install the Intel one- I had the same issue with a Dell driver.

That said, if rolling it back fixes the problem you're done for now! Maybe try upgrading the driver again in a few months if HP updates it again (without bugs, hopefully).

DervlaJ wrote on 4/1/2021, 7:52 AM

That's such a weird issue, I'll keep this thread pinned so I know what to do if it breaks again! I'm a bit stressed about all the computer stuff so I might leave it for now and install the intel one if it breaks again.
Thanks for the help! I appreciate it!

You've done right and great!

Keep that "earlier version" as a fortress so even if you come back from future by time machine you'll survive.
