Vegas Pro 16 Update 361 Crashing, Abnormal Behavior

Hello Vegas Pro Programmers,

I have run into more problems with Vegas Pro 16 than any other version before it. It took me to realize that Vegas Pro 16 doesn't understand how to use multiple video cards correctly. I had to switch Vegas Pro 16 to use the other video card to get content to show up in the Video Preview Window and Trimmer properly. By switching which video card is being used, ALL crashing and locking up of Vegas Pro 16 has stopped.

I just though I would share this with everyone, anyone who may have problems with dual video cards.

I still can't drag and drop media into the Project Media Window, yet, I can get it into the program by Import -> Media menu item. Any ideas here would be deeply appreciated.

Just a FYI, I'm running an Intel 7980XE, Win10x64, 64GB Memory, 2TB NVME system drive, Dual Nvidia 1080TIs, three 6TB 256MB Cache storage HHDs, I think this computer should have enough bang to do all my audio/video editing.

I'm Visually, Hearing, and Speech impaired severely disabled veteran, so please don't fuss at me over any stupid questions. It's hard for me to go looking for answers all the time to fix problems that I have with software.

Thanks for all the help I hope that I'll receive!

Drag a file and hover it over "X" on the PMW tab until it (X) turns red. Then drop the file on to the window.

I have the same problem in build 361. I cannot drag and drop files from Windows Explorer to the timeline, or any other Vegas window. Hovering over the (X) does not work for me. There is always the "cannot drop here" cursor icon. I can drag and drop in V15 and V10.

Hovering over the X works (for me) from (Vegas) Explorer to drop media on to the Project Media window in VP 15 and 16.

Double-clicking media in VP 15 and 16 Windows Explorer places it (for me) in the PMW. Drag&drop or hovering doesn't.

Drag&drop to the timeline using Explore current folder (RC in Vegas Explorer) works in my VP 15 and (slowly) 16.

Do you run VP16 as administrator? This can be a problem because Windows UAC prevents drag & drop operation between applications with different rights (Normal <-> Admin)

@altarvic: Thank you!

Don't know if that will solve the OP's problem regarding drag-and-drop, but it solved mine.

one of my computer that have dual GPU and I have no issue with Vegas crashing on any of VP13 14 15 16. I had two cards on that system and vegas not using two cards any way. I had it because its was built at the time solely for gaming and Vegas. I think your Vegas crashing on your system which I believed mainly is your Nivida card, 1080 Ti. Base on what I have seen here, 1080 card causing problems for some people and some other people may not see any issues and work fine in Vegas.
