Vegas Pro 17 'watermark' still appears on paid version

Bought, received and installed Magix Sony Vegas Pro 17.

Registered product. Open new project in software program, pull in images and a video clip. Edit it how I want it and then saved it. Then Rendered clip. Upon playback of MP4, watermark appears of file name MP4. Playing back on VLC player.

Project Properties and My System on PC

Magix website.

Watermarks should not be appearing; this is why I bought the program.

Please check this comment in case this applies to your issue as well. See also sections 10 and 11 here.

I had already read about VLC on that link and looked into it. Was not set to add a logo.

I have created images in Photoshop and saved them as .png, added them to Vegas Pro 17, rendered and see a watermark. Added video and same result. I don't understand how installing a fresh software program, registering it with a provided key sent to my email, will continue to have a watermark.

Something else I have noticed: upon playing back a rendered video I get a watermark. Keeping the screen open and playing it back a 2nd time, it is gone. Only if I close the viewer and re-open the video do I see a watermark.

I don't know what that is about and why it wouldn't show every time.

Okay, I just tried something. I opened a web browser. I then grabbed and dropped one of the saved / rendered videos onto the screen. It played the video with no watermark. SO! I guess, somehow, VLC IS doing this. I will continue to investigate it.

I have opened 3 videos with VLC and each one has watermark on it even though it is set not to have one.

All 3 videos I have dropped into a web browser and each one plays without a watermark. For now, it seems that VLC is throwing me off visually. I will later try to upload a video to YouTube and check results then.

In my experience with VLC the file name you see -- Medieval2.mp4, for example -- is ALWAYS displayed when a file is opened in the viewer. It disappears almost immediately. It is definitely not part of the rendered video, does not appear as the video is playing and is not transferred to the video file.

@Ronald-Blacksmith As others have advised it's nothing to do with Vegas. In VLC go to Tools\Preferences\Subtitles/OCD and untick the box below

Thanks EricLNZ. I've never noticed that box before. Good to know.

Again thank Eric, Thats a great reply and cure to an annoying bit of VLC.

I agree; never noticed it! Did as Eric suggested and no more watermark! Thank you!!

Same here. And as was previously stated, the file name/watermark display can be disabled.

VLC isn't the only player that puts a file's title temporarily on screen when a video starts.

Personally I rarely use VLC as MPC-HC is my preferred viewer, mainly for its quickly available media info..
