I have just download Vegas Pro 17 on to my windows 10 PC, but it obviously hasn't installed
properly. I can't see Vegas in my windows uninstaller so I can't uninstall. Whe nI run the
program in diplays the logo, version 17 build 143, and then gets as far as saying ASIO drive
yamaha/steinberg USB ASIO, and up pops windows installer. preparing to install, and then it hangs there doing nothing.
When I try to reinstall, it says that it is already installed. So I have no way out - HELP!!!!

@Ronald-Ladley - Hi Ronald! Where did you get that Old build?

I have just paid my money and downloaded it from the Magix/Vegas web site.

Wow! I’d be getting the latest build of VP17 and try that.

Are you sure your download is not VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum build 143?

There is no release of VP 17 b 143 that we or the revision history know.

See if VEGAS Movie Studio versions are listed as Movie Studio ***, not as VEGAS, in the uninstaller.

Many thanks for all the responses. Sorry, yes vkmast,I think that must be the case, there are an awful lot of names out there. I have to say, I had tried loading my old version10, before I ordered an updated one, and thinking about it,with that the Windows installed kicked in on that as well, but that time, when I went to uninstall, it was there, flagged as installed in windows, so I was able to uninstall..

No difference, you are able to download your bought software from Magix and their Magix Service Center, burn it to CD or DVD and from there install it.

Hi I'm back, and it's working!!!

After much research, I see that there is history about trying to run Vegas software (including Soundforge etc), if you have Cubase on your PC. It must have happened a few years ago, but I found several posts about it. Anyway, I checked my audio settings in Cubase (I have pro 10.5), and saw that I had a new audio option, Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO, which must have been added in the Vegas install, and picked up by Cubase automatically, as an audio driver. Anyway, if I tried to switch to that driver, but Windows promptly went into install mode, hung there. Same as Vegas was doing.

So I thought there can't be a propper driver file, so I downloaded the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver, 2.0.3 (latest one), and firstly tried Cubase again - it didn't crash, it just ignored it. So I then ran Vegas and Great News, it loaded properly, and seems to run fine, so I'm very happy. Hope this helps other people.
