What build of Vegas 20 are you using? I'm not having a problem in build 214. I have a small freeware utility called KillAllVegas on my desktop that does the trick with my older versions.

@Musicvid 214 yes, also same thing was happening with vegas 19 .. im thinking it might be a windows 11 issue?

I thought this issue might be licked -- but I don't have Win 11 yet. Put the word "Bug" in your topic title so it will get noticed by development.

Running Vegas Pro 20 365 (214) it happens to me also, not all of the time. Win 11 for me. I use KillAllVegas then Vegas opens up.

My Win11 and Win10 laptops have always done that going back to vp16. Win 11 and Win10 desktops and Nuc are all fine. As a last resort I've been using a powershell script to thwart it on my laptop... it's linked at the bottom of my signature.

Seems like Vegas problem to me since no other applications on my system do this. To workaround it go into your task manager, find the stuck Vegas background process and end task. On the next launch you should see Vegas20..exe flash for second in the background processes and then it will launch and show up under your running apps in Vegas.

Just for giggles I'll report it to Microsoft with Feedback Hub next time it reproduces and see what response I get.

@Howard-Vigorita i'm sorry i didn't understand what is the powershell script or how to use that ..

Howard-Vigorita wrote on 12/2/2022, 11:01 AM

It's the more recent version of a .cmd or .bat Windows text command file. Generally, on win10 or win11, you can save a text file made with Notepad as file-type .ps1, right click on it, and choose "Run Powershell Script" from the Win explorer context menu. Not all Win10 versions come with the PowerShell app pre-installed so you might have to pull it down as a free app from the Windows Store. Did not have to ever do that with Win11 but did config win-terminal to use it by default. You can google it for more detailed installation, config, and usage info.
