VEGAS Pro 22 Suite 365 installation error

spqrtxn wrote on 8/21/2024, 8:09 AM

I was trying to install VEGAS Pro 22 Suite 365, when it gave me an error saying that the file is in a drive that is not available even though all of my drives are running just fine. It also gives me the error that they can't find the file specified (the file in question is "VEGAS_Pro_22_setup_x64.ms_"). I need all the help I can get for this because I've been trying to figure this out for over a day. Thanks.

I've never seen that before.

If you purchased VP22 Suite 365, you would have been provided a download link and necessary info for installing, or download the link from you Magix account as @Dexcon has pointed out.

But you would have had to actually purchased it from Magix.

Try going to your Vegas Pro 22 Suite entry under My Products in your MAGIX My Account and use the VP22 downloader there to install.

This is part of the problem that I should have stated. The installer was from the My Products page on my account. And I have tried redownloading it and trying again but the same problem happens.

@spqrtxn how about trying from Nick's Download FAQ post, p.7 Direct Links?

The issue is still the same there.

I should also mention that before the errors pop up, the installation manager prompts me to remove the product since I originally just wanted to reinstall VEGAS. I have no idea if I uninstalled it incorrectly, but I have no clue.

Sorry that I wasn't so clear about this in the beginning.

How you do the uninstallation process previously?

Normally I would uninstall VEGAS via the Control Panel.

AndrewM wrote on 10/7/2024, 4:37 PM

Exactly the same issue now - had run installer, it partially uninstalled so then completed as per instructions for full uninstall. Every time I try to install, it now comes up with this.

Now UNABLE TO USE the program I have purchased and use regularly!!!!!

When is this going to be fixed?

"We", meaning us here in the User Forum, are not Magix tech support. The people here help when they can on a voluntary basis. We have no contact with tech support, so no one here can not give you an answer to when a fix will happen.

Have you contacted Support? Provide a detailed message with what you have done, your computer specs with specific hardware, and your serial number. If they provide a solution that works, maybe post it here for others?

@spqrtxn when I've had problems with software installation because of a problematic uninstall, and when nothing seems to work, I usually use the nuclear option, Revo Uninstaller Pro. That is the version I have, the paid version. There is a free version Revo Uninstaller Free that you can get HERE. It hunts down hidden folders and registry entries. Just be careful and go through them to make sure that they don't affect anything else. I have several past versions of Vegas Pro installed, so I don't want to have folders/registry of those versions removed, I uncheck them.

Or... if I am totally pissed, I will uninstall everything and start over from scratch. After you use Revo, restart your computer and then try the installation again. While I've never had an issue with Vegas Pro installing/uninstalling in 8 years, I've had issues with other software and used Revo to bail me out.

1. You need 7-zip to extract the setup files, where you download > MAGIX Downloads\Installationsmanager
2. Find the Vegas Pro setup in the folder path like this Vegas_Pro_xxx > product > Vegas Pro setup.exe

EricLNZ wrote on 4/27/2025, 5:58 PM

You shouldn't need 7-zip as Windows can extract zip files natively.
