video editing adding video FX

I am using Movie Studio 16 v 175. After working correctly for the past year, all of a sudden, I cannot see my video fx plugins in my preview window. Where is the switch to view the fx in the preview window?

See that the Split screen view button (above the Preview window) is not pressed (blue).
