video event fx window doesn't work (grey)

Hi there,

My Vegas 12 worked fine last week, but now I'm trying to work with it, there seems to be something broken. Whenever I try to open a video event fx window, this window opens as a grey window without content...

I have already re-installed Vegas and also tried with a different user profile in windows 7.

Does anyone have a clue on how to fix this?

Marcel

Can you post a ScreenGrab? Interesting.

Hi there,

Here it is:

I have noticed something else now...in Vegas 11 the event fx windows still work, but in 11 the
Text generator fails! (see screencapture)

The only things I've done recently are Un-installing Mozilla Firefox (The Adobe flash plugin kept crashing all the time!) and installing the latest version of Skype.

Hope I can fix this soon....

Horrid. I've never ever seen this one.

Nope...me neither
I've seen Vegas errors in all kinds of different variaties but this is a new one ...

It must be something that is installed or removed in my system recently that is conflicting with Vegas...I have started an older windows 7 partition and this works normal, so I can at least do the work!

Does anyone know other software in windows 7 (64 bit) that Vegas uses?
Stuff like Microsoft visual C++ etc ?
I've always got loads of those installed, and I have no idea how they got there!

Both of you seem to be in NL. Just a coincidence?

Yes I'm also in the Netherlands but I doubt if that has got anything to do with this...Today I will check if Microsoft has installed some of their brilliant updates on my W7, because that could have caused this too I guess, I realised just now that another program I use was also having trouble after one of their updates last week....

If that is the case, I'm afraid a new installation will also fail once all MS updates are put back on.
I never installed Movie studio or Vegas 13 so that can't be the cause of my misery...

After much reported issues with M$ updates, I now let Updates languish in the ER at the bottom of my screen until I've got plenty of off-forum confirmation that they're ok to be let loose.

The last BSOD "update" made me truly sceptical.
