Video Jitter

I've downloaded lengthy .ts files into my Movie Studio HD 11. Upon previewing the un-edited video, I've noticed a lot of shipping or maybe we can call it jitter. It is frequent and really anoying. It's almost un watchable. Is this something others have experienced? I did this alot 2 years ago and did not have this problem. Now I'm returning to do the same type of download and editing. But something is messed up. Any help out there?  BTW, when I view the view on the capturing software there is no problem. So the original video is good.

Any change if you adjust the preview quality settings?

To get "context-sensitive" help on many of the sections in the Main window, click "?" on the Toolbar. Drag the arrow with a ? and drop it on the Preview window to see instant help on e.g. adjusting the preview quality.

Thanks for the reply vkmast. I tried adjusting the preview quality settings and I see no improvement. Observing my problem , I can count out about every 4 seconds and the video skips briefly. Maybe a 1/4 sec but not much. The audio continues good.  The only thing I can think of that changed with my computer is the upgrade to Windows 10. I'm suspecting I have a setting that is not correct, but this is real irratating. Would you have any other suggestions?

There are some tips for smooth preview in Vegas Pro here but some of them would also be relevant to Movie Studio. Not sure if this is available in Movie Studio either but you can also try switching GPU acceleration on (the reverse of #4 in this post). What type of media are you using? You could look into using proxies (You can do this automatically now in Vegas Pro. Again I'm not sure about Movie Studio).

Nick, vkmast, I took a hint from you two with the understanding that what  was viewing a preview. I again recorded a short section of video (about 10 minutes) and then I rendered and burned this segment to a DVD. When viewing the playback from the DVD there was absolutely no skipping or "jittering " of the video.  Upon realizing this, I'm far less concerned with the preview situation. In time, when I have more time, I may address this issue again.   It still troubles me as I have not witnessed this before. And just so you know I played with and adjusted many of the setting you described and had links too. They didn't solve the skipping. Thanks again for your help.
