Hi,
you have to scroll down the 'Render as' dialog box to find the 'Custom Template ...' button. If it's greyed out make sure that you have selected a valid listed template first.

I've seen videos of where it should be, but its not there at all. All i see in terms of buttons once the 'Render As...' dialog box opens is the 'About..." button, that is it.

I've highlighted every 'Output Format' pre-loaded template, and none bring up anything different.

stashscream,
did you click the template headings to see all the options and highlight one of those options. This should activate the 'Customize template'. If you did and didn't get the options, I don't know.

My 'Render As' dialog box does not have that "Customize Template" button at all, it only has the "About" button... (I'll screencap later, at work right now).

Do you have just the regular VMS HD 11 or the Platinum? I only have HD, wasn't sure if that would make a difference for whatever reason?

stahscream,
yes I have the 11 Platinum version. May be that the basic version just doesn't have customizing, just like you suspected in the OP.
edit:
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro/compare does indeed show that there are no customizable render templates in the HD.

that really sucks. i'm really needing to change some settings but dont think $50 would be worth the upgrade. oh well, thanks.
