VMS13: error with the MakeMovie advanced options?

Roberto65 wrote on 2/16/2014, 9:02 AM
Hi,

I experienced the following issue.

1. Load a project, which was already rendered and saved on my HD.
2. Choose Make Movie
3. Choose Save on HD
4. Choose Advanced Settings
5. try to change the destination folder with the BROWSE button

It seems that even selecting a different folder, when the BROWSE is closed, the original folder is still there.

Can anybody confirm ?
Anyway, i will post it also to Sony Tech support.

Regards

Roberto

If you mean that the "Place to save your movie" did not change, I could not confirm that in Advanced options either.

Hi,

I suppose your sentence means: "I found the same issue"
I reported the problem to Sony Tech Support.
Hopefully it will be fixed in some updates (if any...)

Anyway, I found that if you preset the destination folder in the main dialog box that appears when you choose Make movie (the one that contains the Advanced Options button), then once the advanced option button is pressed, the destination folder is still empty, but clicking the BROWSE, then it keeps the selected folder.
This is clearly a wrongly coded piece of SW that was not tested by Sony...

In fact, I could not confirm your issue.
This online Help piece of advice works here in my 13.
The Folder box displays the path to the folder where your file will be saved. Click the down arrow to choose a recently used folder, or click the Browse button to specify a new folder.

This function is working correctly on my install also. I often change the folder where I want video's rendered.

Yes. I have this problem too. BUT, I'm sure it wasn't always like that, just a recent thing that's started occurring in the last few days. In fact I still have a path history in the drop-down from previous occasions where I'd been able to set the destination folder. Even selecting one of those previous locations now no longer works, the field is just left blank.

Let us know how you get on with tech support. I'd be interested in a fix!

After 1 week from the time I contacted Sony Tech Support, I got no answer at all.
They have one of the crappiest customer service I have ever experienced.
Total lack of professionalism and customer care from those people.
Obviously total lack of serious management for that department.
Maybe I should write the question in Japanese to get some answer...
