Andrew-Midkiff wrote on 11/12/2020, 8:53 AM

Just purchased Vegas Pro 18 and having a problem rendering videos. I choose render as and in formats I pick MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4, my template is Internet HD 1080p 59.94 fps and hit the render button. The problem is the finished file is not in MP4 format it renders as a .veg file, which cannot be uploaded to YouTube. Running on Windows 10. Can you help me?

What's the file size?

Are you sure it is in the right folder?

When clicking render, finished file should be .MP4 - or probably it is possible to be mistaken to be saved as .VEG or .VEG.MP4

The .VEG Project file, by standard, should be very small file.

If the file size is large on that .VEG, try to rename the extension as .MP4

Cannot replicate. Did you check the right folder as @set asks?

RogerS wrote on 11/12/2020, 9:25 AM

The Veg file is your project, not a video file. The only way to create them is save or save/as.

Your rendered video is somewhere else. Try the desktop or downloads folder?

Andrew-Midkiff wrote on 11/12/2020, 10:06 AM

I just noticed when I hit the "save as" the only option in the dropdown box is .veg file. Now what?

RogerS wrote on 11/12/2020, 10:25 AM

Don't do that, that isn't how you render a video file.

You go to file/ render as and pick a template (like Magix AVC). Pay attention to the folder it saves the video in. The default may not be a place that you can easily find.

I encounter a crash everytime I try to render a project saved in Vegas 17, build 452

Simply trying to render a video file in youtube settings. Have the impression Vegas is not improving

Very annoying since this just start to happen without any reason (well not that I know of)

@Andrew-Midkiff

If it's still crashing, try selecting Nvenc rather than Intel QSV.
