VPro 23 release Date hint?

So, looks like Perpetual Licences for VPro 22 are only available until September 2, so I'd hazard that VPro 23 is likely to be released at around about that same date

You have misunderstood:
The (upgrad) price is valid until september 2. A new offer will probably come after that. Se:

Possibly. We'll see.

More worrying is the massive jump in RRP/MRP

Where do you see a price hike?

Edit: I see that now- it seems like after July the value went up by $1000. Looking at the bottom text that amount is attributed to the ultimate song collection, not VEGAS.

Yesterday I was auto renewed for my 1 year subscription fee for Vegas Pro 22 Suite. With there being new management when Vegas Pro 23 comes out will I be updated to 23? Or will I have to purchase the update? In the past you were updated to the newest version. I will have to wait and see what happens?

Where do you see a price hike?

In the August prices deals:

Previously those prices were $199 for Pro and $249 for Pro Suite

And in the UK (where I am) it is a legal requirement that the "was" price used in a sale should be i) the actual price at which the product was offered for a reasonable period ( typically at least 28 days within the preceding 6 months) before the sale, and ii) not an inflated or artificially high price.

So either this is a pricing error, or the new management are perhaps looking to price out the perpetual licence ...

Looking at the pricing history it changed in July when this song collection was added. Both are under the same management so that change doesn't appear to have any bearing on the price of VEGAS.

That said, how VP 23 will be priced is unknown.

A couple of earlier cases with "MRP" when AudioHero was included. (Offers Feb 14 to Mar 3, again Apr 2 to 29).

Re the basic upgrade price, the current upgrade price to VP22 is $149.00 USD. Back nearly 9 years ago when upgrading from Sony VP13 to MAGIX VP14, the upgrade price I paid back then was $149.00 USD - exactly the same upgrade price as currently applies. Taking into account CPI/inflation, the current upgrade price is less expensive in real terms than it was in 2016.

@MikeS ... similarly in Australia - and some local companies in AU have recently been successfully found guilty in courts of law with deceptive marketing (or the like) for advertising products at a lower price than a higher price that didn't exist immediately previously for a reasonable period. While Australian Consumer Law applies to any product sold in Australia, the relevant government website notes that it would be very hard to prosecute a company located/based outside of Australia.

Above quote from vegasderek indicates to me that it's not finished.

I'd take brand new engine with a pinch of salt, marketing stuff.

I am glad that the Nvidia rendering issue is at least fixed however.

The engine from build 21.300 was the beginning of a new one with a new media decoder, and it sounds like 23 will be it taking on enough functionality to be considered an unveiling of the new engine?

I'm sure it's not "finished"- when does software development ever finish : )

Let's hope the new video engine is almost in its final form in VEGAS Pro 23. And that it makes longer timelines much snappier. My main anticipation is for the long-awaited fix for the VRAM and RAM leak when using the LUT Filter in Vegas Pro 22, as well as the Low Memory problem of the adjustment event issues that persisted in VEGAS Pro 21. It would be a significant step forward if both of these core stability problems are finally resolved in VEGAS Pro 23.

You should consider the video engine work as a "rebuild". Several core components have been replaced for VP 23. The Vegas Core Engine 1.0 represents this. Further components will be added to the Vegas Core Engine as time goes on. I mentioned this previously...the video engine work is a continuous process. New technologies, new hardware, new formats...things are always changing and we are situating Vegas Pro to be able to evolve and improve to be the state of the art solution our customers expect.

Why would you say that? It's the first time for the new engine to be advertised, isn't it?

Gid wrote on 8/31/2025, 6:53 PM

@RogerS Well it's not a new engine, it's sensationalizing an ongoing unfinished process, it was started 1½yrs ago with VP21 300 & it's still under development, so putting that in the advertisement is embellishing the facts .

PS. I don't there's anything wrong with pointing out that when people read that & think they're getting a new engine, what they're actually getting is VP21/22 engine that has a few more updates.

That's just not reasonable. By the time it makes its way out of version 0.7 or whatever to build 1.0 it's a new release. That's a common practice in software development.
